Editorial Standards
Sticko publishes two kinds of page: listings of sticker packs uploaded by publishers, and guides that answer questions about WhatsApp stickers. This page explains how both are produced, so you can judge how much weight to give them.
Who writes the guides
The guides are written and maintained by the Sticko team at HQ Infosystem, and published under the company's name rather than an individual byline. We build and operate the Sticko apps for Android and iOS, which means the installation and troubleshooting advice comes from running the sticker import flow ourselves across a lot of devices, not from summarising other articles.
We do not publish guest posts, sponsored guides, or content written to place a link. No page on this site is paid for by a third party.
Where the numbers come from
Every technical figure we publish — sticker dimensions, file-size ceilings, animation limits, tray icon requirements, pack sizes — is taken from WhatsApp's own third-party sticker documentation, and each guide names that source in a Sources section at the end of the page. If a figure is not in WhatsApp's documentation, we either leave it out or say plainly that it is our own observation rather than a documented rule.
We do not round specifications from memory. This is not a hypothetical concern: an earlier version of this site stated that WhatsApp limits an animated sticker to about three seconds. The documented limit is ten seconds. That error appeared on a large number of pages before it was found, and the citation requirement above exists because of it. The corrected figure is now covered by an automated test that fails the build if the wrong number reappears anywhere in the codebase.
Corrections
When we find a factual error we fix it at the source rather than adding a note beside it, and the page's Updated date changes with it. If you have spotted something wrong, tell us through the contact form — corrections from readers are the fastest way we find mistakes, and they are welcome.
How sticker packs are reviewed
Packs on Sticko are uploaded by publishers, not created by us. Each one goes through a review queue before it appears on the site. The reviewer checks three things:
- that the WebP files meet WhatsApp's size and format requirements, so the pack will actually import;
- that the artwork appears to be original or properly licensed;
- that nothing in the pack breaks our content policy — no hate, no graphic violence, no impersonation.
Review usually takes a few hours. If a pack is rejected, the publisher gets a note explaining what to fix and can resubmit.
Review is a quality and policy check, not a legal rights clearance. We cannot verify ownership of every image, so if you hold rights to a work that appears in a pack, our DMCA policy is the route to have it removed, and reports are acted on.
What the numbers on a pack mean
Download and like counts on a pack page are engagement metrics: how many people added it and how many tapped like. They are not ratings, not reviews, and not a quality judgement by us. We do not publish star ratings for packs, because we do not collect review data that would support one — and presenting an install count as a rating would be misleading.
Advertising
The site is free to use and funded by advertising. Ads never determine which packs appear in a listing, how packs are ordered, or what a guide says. We do not accept payment to feature a pack, and we do not sell placement in any feed.
