Quick answer
Diwali 2026 falls on Sunday, 8 November. To send Diwali stickers on WhatsApp, pick a pack below, open it in the free Sticko app and tap Add to WhatsApp — the stickers then sit under the sticker icon in every chat. WhatsApp itself has also released free Diwali packs in its in-app Sticker Store in past years; look under the + in the sticker tray.
Diwali sticker packs for WhatsApp
Diwali 2026 dates
| Day | Date |
|---|---|
| Dhanteras | Friday, 6 November 2026 |
| Choti Diwali (Naraka Chaturdashi) | Saturday, 7 November 2026 |
| Diwali (Lakshmi Puja) | Sunday, 8 November 2026 |
| Govardhan Puja | Monday, 9 November 2026 |
| Bhai Dooj | Tuesday, 10 November 2026 |
Each of the five days has its own greetings, so it is worth adding more than one pack: Dhanteras wishes on 6 November, diya, rangoli and Lakshmi stickers for the main evening on the 8th, and sibling stickers for Bhai Dooj on the 10th.
How to add a Diwali pack to WhatsApp
- Open a pack above to see every sticker in it.
- Tap Download on Android or Download on iOS. The free Sticko app opens with that pack ready.
- In the app, tap Add to WhatsApp and confirm when WhatsApp asks.
- Open any chat, tap the sticker icon, and the pack is in your tray.
WhatsApp can only install sticker packs through an app on your phone, so a website on its own cannot add a pack. That is why the Download buttons hand the pack to the Sticko app.
Animated or static Diwali stickers
A WhatsApp sticker pack is either fully animated or fully static — WhatsApp does not allow the two to be mixed in one pack. Animated packs bring flickering diyas and bursting fireworks; static packs are smaller and send instantly on a slow connection.
Animated stickers work in WhatsApp on both Android and iPhone. WhatsApp caps each animated sticker at 500 KB and 10 seconds, and each static sticker at 100 KB, so every pack here downloads in seconds even during the festival-evening rush.
WhatsApp's own Diwali stickers
In past years WhatsApp has published a free Happy Diwali pack in its in-app Sticker Store for users in India. To check whether one is available this year, open any chat, tap the sticker icon, then tap + to open the Sticker Store; a seasonal pack appears near the top when WhatsApp has released one for your region.
Packs on Sticko are separate from WhatsApp's own: they are made by Sticko's community of creators and installed through the Sticko app, and both kinds sit side by side in your sticker tray.
Get the Sticko app
WhatsApp only accepts sticker packs from an installed app, so the last step always happens outside the browser. Sticko is free on Android and iPhone, and adds any pack to WhatsApp in a couple of taps.
